Subhi Al’Aref, M.D., a third-year resident in the Department of Medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College, and a graduate of Weill Cornell Medical College-Qatar, was awarded the first prize at the Department’s Seventeenth Annual David E. Rogers Memorial Research Award Competition on May 10, 2011 for research he conducted in the laboratory of Dr. Olaf S. Andersen. The title of Dr. Al’Aref’s presentation was “Statins Modify Bilayer Mechanical Properties.”
